We have cats, young and old, that are not well socialised pets. But are ideal for homes that don't mind being hands off and maybe looking for some rodent deterrence in exchange for giving them food and shelter and keeping an eye out for them. Shelter could be a barn, garage or shed. Or a part of the house where they can do their own thing and not be stressed by human interaction.
